Here is some information. Bear with us. This will be something new, so we don’t know exactly what we are doing yet!!!

So it’s like a gym in that it can be a place you can go to grow in the Lord through your own attention to Scripture. It is also like a gym in that we will can help people if they don’t know how to study scripture. I don’t know what I’m doing when it comes to the real gym, and most of us if we haven’t been there don’t know either — Katherine has benefited from joining a gym with a few people who know what they are doing. This is the idea!

Yes, Adventures in Bible Study. It is an adventure to seek God’s will and God’s ways. It should be a thrill not a thing that is a drudgery. It can be that, but it doesn’t have to be just that.

In the future I’d like to open up an evening version of this on one of the weeknights, and perhaps a daytime one too. Expandable!

There are so many aspects to studying the Bible, and there are so many different types of scripture to study. This is an inexhaustible wealth of potential learning opportunities open for those who want to listen. The biggest prerequisite Jesus gives to learning about God is primarily a desire to hear what he has to say (Matthew 13). This opens up a wealth of God’s information and communication. Just caring about the word. Do we want to hear?

Here, I would like this to be a thing that is both “God centered” and “people centered.” It is God centered in that it revolves around the Word of God and not my meanderings or yours. It is people centered in that it is not about this organization but you are the “boss” of what you study, you decide what you need, you are responsible — others can encourage you, others can give wisdom, but in the end its about what you desire, what you learn, what you apply.
